About the event

This in-person professional learning course is designed for Intermediate and Senior educators who are working with Indigenous content, perspectives, and responsibilities in subject-specific and credit-bearing contexts.


This is not a lecture-based session. Participants will engage in structured professional discussion, collaborative design, and real-time application focused on how Indigenous pedagogical frameworks can be meaningfully and responsibly implemented in Intermediate and Senior classrooms.

The course focuses on instructional decision-making, curriculum alignment, and program design, including how Indigenous ways of knowing can be integrated without dilution, tokenism, or overgeneralization. Participants will examine their current practice, identify points of tension or uncertainty, and work through a guided design process to create a usable instructional artefact appropriate for Intermediate or Senior learners.


Attention is given to assessment, voice, and accountability, particularly in spaces where students are capable of deeper analysis, critique, and relationship to land, law, and history. The course centres Indigenous pedagogical frameworks, including…
